Joseph’s Green Seer Stone
Joseph Smith owned a green seer stone, pictured above, which was purchased from Jack Belcher in 1825. Prior to Joseph’s purchase of the stone, Jack’s son was using this “seeing stone” to locate lost items, including attempting to locate a missing child who was eventually found starved to death. After Joseph was killed, this stone changed owners, multiple times. This stone recently sold for $75,000 in 1993 and now resides in a private collection.
